    R290 refrigerant systems

    Curious, how many of you are servicing R290 systems?

    We are. Theres a lot of hydrocarbon systems out there. R290 and R600a Isobutane as well.

    Theres a lot out there.

    Just about every new unit weve sold for at least the past six months has been hydrocarbon, and even a lot prior to then.

    True, Beverage Air, Continental, Turbo Air, theyre all doing hydrocarbons.

    Im seeing quite a bit myself in the Dallas tx area. Im currently servicing r290 but have not worked with the Isobutane. Is it a semi flammable refrigerant?

    Im with him, lots in he DFW Metro, True, BevAir, and Traulsen is what Ive seen/worked on.

    are ya'll seeing leaky coils ? Compressors locking up ?

    I came across a True last week , unit is only a month old , compr locked up

    Ive had one locked up compressor that was a week old and replaced 2 evaporators and one condenser coil that were leaking In The last 3 months. All R290

    Only issues have been burnt controllers, Trues like to leak on the small display cases where it penetrates the floor to run to evap.
