    Well that's another possibility eliminated.

    How did it fail?

    Electrical or mechanical?

Did you cut the old one open and look at the bearings?

    Its definitely mechanical.

It has the MCS controller, When the chiller starts it warm the water to 70F, at this point it adjusts the cooling by the demand frequency of the magnet. Today when I put the new compressor in, the FSE told me they had offsets in the hot gas bypass controller and the low pressure safety cutout.

It has two low pressure setting. When the chiller comes on the suction pressure drops to 45 PSI before the liquid line solenoid opens, the low pressure safety cutout is 10 PSI.

Before I start the new compressor tomorrow the FSE will be there, and he needs to correct the offsets or have new a transducer and thermistor.

The FSE's that monitor the sites from another state sometimes make ignorant decision to keep the magnet running.

I know recently that one FSE put a higher number in the HP cutout because it was tripping out, but not this site.

So I replaced the failed compressor on 10/15. Had them default all setting in the MCS, they replaced the thermistor for the HGB and defaulted all settings.

I haven't heard a beep from the site, and they paid to change the second compressor.
