    Traulsen prep fridge

    That few days temps have been hovering around 56 degrees and I see frost is on the outlet of the TXV. TXV is frozen right after inlet. What would cause this?

    73 degrees. I vaccumned and pushed nitrogen through system and weighed in 16oz of 134a and still 56 degrees is where it sits with frost on outlet of txv heading to evap

    Well you shouldn't have to open the valve but if the power element is losing charge you'll have to do that to by time. What is the superheat ?

    The super heat is 13

    It's R134a right ? Suction pressure should be around 15 psig.

    Mod # would be nice?

    Grab the bulb and see if the suction goes up.

    Better yet
    Pull the drier and valve, install a small receiver, new drier & SG and valve.
    Recharge to clear glass and be done!
