Can a new Geothermal Compressor be shipped on its side?

I have a new compressor for my Climatemaster Geothermal. I no longer need it and sold it on ebay. It is bolted to a pallet, but I thought it may be easier to remove it from the pallet and ship in a box. Here is the compressor in question:

    Thanks in advance!

You think if the manufacturer would ship it in a box for cheap that they would? Unless there was a reason?
    I wish I had a $1.00 for every response I deleted.....

Well, it may be too heavy to ship via Fedex and so it was shipped on a pallet....which is why I figured it was sent that way. I know you can put a fridge on its side for transport, so I thought you can with this compressor as well.

So, the questions remains, can a compressor be shipped on it side?

    No, that would damage it.

Wouldnt most the oil just run back down in the crank case? If you put terminations down it could leak out.

You can put a frig on its side but have to be careful. Its usually the right side facing the front. Especially with static coils, oil will never drain back into the compressor without having to run it first.
