Blower making bumping noise in auto

I have an old rheem model reab-1415 j . The production date is 87. Thermostat is an Ecobee 3 lite that has been installed for 1.5 years.

What will cause the blower to make a random bumping noise in auto while cooling? It sometimes will go a whole cycle without doing it, but it's mostly a random amount. From what i can tell the bumping we hear is the blower turning off and on quickly. When the fan is in the ON mode and NOT cooling it doesnt do it. This doesnt affect the outside unit. Any ideas?

    Thanks

Might be a control issue at the air handler. If it does it consistently, a technician should be able to find out.
