    Help with Carrier Comfortview System

Hi all. Hoping to get some answers. The computer we use to schedule HVAC for our bldgs is on it's way out. I was told the new computer would not support the HVAC program and we would need a new Comfortview System installed-$10k.
Our IT guy said we could just buy a license for MS Virtual XP and that would support it. Is this as easy as it sounds??

If he believes that is the case, I would ask him to show you why he believes that.

If all you need is a platform that replicates the XP operating system, and you have the program discs that were used to install your building Control software on your current system, then it sounds to me like it's possible.

But...if you don't have the ability to install the building Control software on the new system, then you would have to buy that system again or license it to have somebody come by with the discs and install them.

The only thing I can think of as a work around to that would be to create a mirror image of your current hard drive and install that mirror image onto your new disc in your new system, but only he could tell you if that is possible in this situation.

Thank you. I will follow up with them.
