Colin Kaepernick signs huge deal with Nike

The biggest name in sports apparel has gone all in with Colin Kaepernick, basically saying FU to Trump and a lot of other people. Quite stunning and controversial to say the least. He will make millions and have his own line of clothes and sneakers. They are going to practically make him the face of Nike.

I dont wear any kind of sports related apparel....... wear new balance shoes...... but they have gone way downhill in quality the last couple of years.

But I still wont wear anything like nike or adidas....

Colin might hurt their business with some people...... but for the most part... the people who wear nike... are probably supportive of him.

Guess we will find out in a few months.... Winters a comin....... xmas....

90 percent of their clientele is colored folk , so unfortunately they will be fine …

I just shake my head at those who pay 100 - 200 dollars for a pair of sneakers

Last I saw, he was sporting a big afro. Let's see if Nike makes him cut his hair.
If you were a real tech, you'd solder a relay on that board and call it good to go.

I do a triple evac with nitro to remove non condensables.

I use 56% silver on everything except steel.

Did you really need the " If you were a real tech " ??

Now they're marketing with a guy who isn't even playing a sport?

I like how he's suing the NFL for colluding to keep him out, too. Meanwhile Nike was plenty OK with not wanting to associate with Tiger Woods when his scandal erupted. But that decision probably wasn't about money, right?

I dont like Colon Krapperneck. IMO Nike is going to lose some business from sane people. People like CP who like gay looking shoes will still pay their outrageous prices for them (reference The Cage, Apple thread for pics).

I support the players right to kneel in protest and even I think this was a dumb choice. But maybe they simply thought it would get lots of attention (it has and will), and that the extra free advertisement from all the fuss would outweigh any customers they lose.

He'll be fine, and Nike will be fine.
You think Nike, the company that uses slave labor to make sneakers for about $8 a pair, then sells them for $100, $200, $300+ bucks is worried about their image? Controversy sells.
He's getting boned by the NFL, so he'll take the money.
