Damn that’s nice. Sure makes troubleshooting heck of a lot easier.
    Well done

What happened to it? Did they not have a high voltage terminal block or what?

Must not have had one. The oem probably burnt up and whoever did it must've found what they could at Home Depot Im guessing. I know none of the electrical supply houses around me carry those power distribution blocks, I had to order them.

One thing we do know is they had lots of extra pink wire.

    Thanks!

Also those wires I replaced were the worst crimps I've ever seen. Half of them the guy partially missed the barrel. I could pull out almost all of them. Even a halfway decent crimp you cant pull out for the life of you.

How anybody could do that and even call them self a tradesman is beyond me.

I could see doing the top way only if the parts were not on hand and it was a emergency to get it going until the correct parts could be installed then rip out the rats nest and do it right like you did

Wow 8 systems on a rack breaker, with no individual breakers!?? That certainly cannot be right, and makes it hard to service. The rack is probably on a 100a breaker right?

Also, did you relocate the switches in the before pic, or is it a different panel or something?

Very neat looking work, I'd just like to see individual breakers for each unit

I guess when 1 compressor shorts out. It takes down the whole rack.
But, your right! Should have a breaker above each contactor.

This is just for the condenser fans. Regardless you're right. I didn't think about that, would've been a great time to add in overcurrent protection. I did not remove any protection devices.

The pressure switches you see at the top of the photo were not being used anymore, so I removed them.

All it takes is one tired guy after 14 hours and a pair of dikes. Or it takes 20 years of multiple offenders with no pride.

With all the pink wire they might have had a little bit of gay pride...
