    Calcium build up

New client working on ice machine. Found heavy calcium but didn't solidify as a block just white soft sand everywhere. Found no filtration system. Installed filtration and cleaned the machine thoroughly. Called back 2 weeks later with same issue. Cleaned, checked orings on filtration did found the tattle tale say it dropped to 0psi. Wondering if just really bad water or could something the town did to the main cause it? This is in a restaurant that has pex diverted everywhere hard to trace main source splits 40times. Could be reason for pressure lose.

Try a 2 stage filter? It may need to be changed more often.

i4000 filter? Enough of them to supply the machine? Possibly add a scale inhibitor feeder?

why not put in a large water softener? I have a couple restaurants that use them on the ice machines and soda machines only.

You will probably find the ph is extremely high. The water co does this to clean the system. It results i a very high tds.
Disolved solids cannot be filtered (Like sugar in water). normally magically goes away in 4-6 weeks. Softners will help.

Our town drops something in the water supply, usually winter time, that precipitates out as white or yellowish fine grit.

Went with ScaleGone filters and it really cut down on service issues.
