Anyone familiar with ventless washer dryer combos?

My wife and I are having a townhome built and one thing I don't like is the laundry room being located on the third floor. I don't like it because with the stackable GE washer and dryer set the builder offers, there's virtually no room to pull out the appliances and service them easily (about 2" of space on each side of the units).

So I was thinking of getting an LG or Whirlpool ventless washer dryer combo because they're nice and compact, but I've never seen them. I understand they take a loooong time to dry because they only require a 120V 15A service, but that's not a big issue since it's just my wife and I.

I'm looking to get some thoughts if y'all every dealt with a combo unit. And I already asked if the builder could move the washer-dryer hookups to the garage, but there's no where to run the dryer vent.

There's another thread on here about that. I think the general consensus was that they're poop and it's best to install a vent system. Plus, you need a condensate drain.

I thought the condensate drain would just go in the washer box, no?

Hmm, what about those unitized combo units? Are those pretty decent?

The ones for Rec Vehicles are crap and I assume the residential ones aren't much better. If you want drying to take three times as long, go for it. Otherwise go with a standard vented system even if you have to use a duct booster fan.

you have to pump it up. is there space for a larger pump to accept all that condensate from all that water?

The "ventless" dryer uses a refrigeration system (dehumidifier) to remove the moisture from the clothes. Not sure how they keep the coils clean... ;-)

There is several brands sold for RV's that are ventless but most try them then opt to chunk it and get a vented model. They are just too slow drying.
