Compressor manufacturers overall have been experiencing more compressor failures with the new p o e oil. I've learned this at a Copeland seminar, the p o e oil will eventually evaporate off the internal compressor parts if the compressor doesn't run for over 24 hours. They get dry starts. It's just not nearly as good as the mineral oil

you can do whatever you want and I surely am not nor do I care to speak for anyone else but I imagine few other people care what you do either, imagine the reason most of us our out here is to try and step up our HVACR game ... but as mentioned there is a right way and a wrong way ...

You don't have your own micron gauge for all your sidework?

He just purges the line set with the refrigerant of the day.

I read all these recent posts and I gotta say Metalman's post says it all... I wish I could like it a thousand times!

Really, Ben, stop telling people where you work, how you violate your local laws, and what codes you break without a worry in the world. You do realize that it's more than just techs on this site, right? There's law enforcement, code officers, OEMs, Reps, and likely your employer. Plus, if you piss off someone just enough they may even take the effort to print out all the pertinent stuff here to get you into major trouble! All it takes is a certified letter. Just STOP talking.

    It's only one call away.
I said my piece, and got wound up about it, but there is nothing you can do if he won't listen to reason, continuing to converse with him and the comments get worse and worse, he leaves more of a trail of poor information on here in an open forum where people can read his unsuccessful successes and apprentices, young techs, and prospective clients, could be swayed by his incomprehensible shoveling loads of horse and possibly believe anything he says.
