Why use a manifold? If i think the system needs gas I just hook a hose up to my can & time it. I figure I can get about a pound of gas in every 15 seconds. I don't always know exactly how much gas to put in but I'm a perfectionist & like to get the charge just perfect.

I still have a manifold/hoses for quick checks...but using the wireless stuff leads me to look at the system rather than just the suction pressure.

With so many more TXV's (that don't work right) in play, looking at everything to begin with can save me some embarrassing moments and wasted time.

You are my Hero! so for two years never hooked up a vacuum pump, hooked up a reclaim, found a empty system and never had a system problem refrigerant wise. And i carry a pocket screwdriver, 8/1 screwdriver, pair of channelllocks, 4" adjustable wrench and coffee. And if my coffee gets cold they send out help just to warm it up!

Yeah I haven’t used a manifold in quite some time. We are talking about a manifold for in-floor radiation correct?
