It is not something we can control
Wow. Too bad they can get away with that garbage. Hopefully something gets figured out because that will definitely prevent some guys from coming back here.

Just dump the ads. A year ago I was told "no help with site problems because you are using an ad blocker."

Today IT/admin is telling people to install the blocker.

Can't just stick with Google AdSense? They don't allow low quality ads, and if any get by the users can flag them.

I found a browser for android that not only blocks all these ads, it's actually a slick browser and very fast. It's called CM Browser. Not a single pop-up again since I installed it. Often it will say 18 ads blocked on a single hvac-talk page. Just passing it on in case you android guys are getting as annoyed as I was.

Maybe we as individuals need to contact Amazon and say that because of these pop ups we will not be using Amazon. I don't think Amazon is the advertiser but I would think they would go after any scammer that is hurting their business.

    cheers,

Since installing this app a few days ago I have had NO problems with the site while using chrome. However I have found it blocks some things I use on other sites. I have turned off one or two filters for fine tuning.

    Chrome users can try this:
To activate the pop-up blocker beta I was describing on the phone, simply go this URL in your browser and change the highlighted option to "Enabled": chrome://flags/#enable-framebusting-needs-sameorigin-or-usergesture

    Pop-up Ads?

Usually use an app to access the forum, but today I just used my tablet’s browser and got a one way pop-up ad that wouldn’t go away without closing the browser window. WTH?

When I clicked into the site using a new window I got a different ad but same thing, no option to decline or close the window.

Here was the ad (attached screen shot)

Has an advertiser gone too far? Hack?

After 6th close and re-attempt, I quickly just selected a random forum from home page and got in sans the pop-up.

I haven't had it on my iPad yet but have gotten it on my iPhone. I only get it on h-talk so far and i found out luckily away from anyone, if you hit the back button it may take you to a porn site. This would not of been good around some of my elderly lady customers. Yeah, explain that glitch.
