If you cannot reduce it any more I'm going to shop around

Oh well sir you probly wont find it any cheaper , we are very competitive

    So I call State Farm

They want Half of what I'm paying

I'm changing my business insurance from American family to Farm Bureau beginning on next month. Farm Bureau is reducing my insurance by more than American Family raised it this year. I've had American Family personal and business for over thirty years. Personal insurance is next. I told my agent when the increase came either you are changing or I am, let me know which. I got my answer.

What state are you in? I didn't know F.B did commercial.
We have had them over 30 years on personal house/cars and the service has been excellent. Like everyone else they are starting to creep up.....

It's a shell game. What's the best way to hi-jack customers is to low ball the price. Next year they catch up. The other is that insurance pricing seems different in different places. One is low in OK another is low in Indiana.
Bean counters use lots of variables.
It's probably best to find out how they settle claims rather that shop price. Consumer Reports used to publish this.

Of all the car insurance companies in the US, Allstate is the worst. Or it was a few years ago.

Amica and USAA are the best.

But all car insurance companies do the same thing with pricing: They start low and raise the price every year.
The longer you stay with a company, the more you pay. Customers attribute this to inflation and assume
they will pay a similar price somewhere else. Not true. When you are a new customer, you get a lower price.

If you want to save money on car insurance premiums, shop around every two or three years.

I have had State Farm since 1976. I have always had something insured with them. I have tried some others for both personal and business. They all started out low but within a couple years they were always more than State Farm. No insurance is cheap but State Farm has been the cheapest overall for me. I have had my disagreements with their underwriters but my agent has always worked it out to where I was happy with the coverage & cost. After 40 some years I have had only 1 claim that I thought I got screwed on and that was about 12 years ago. I have an independant agent for most of my business (Pekin is the actual insurer) I'm pretty happy with them too.

Snake Farm? Lady that hit me last year had them, wouldn't pay. Progressive went after them and the arbitration board sided with us and I got my deductible and Progressive got their money. Guy cross center line hits a friend, destroys her BMW and sends her to the trauma center. Snake Farm won't pay, claims the other driver had a medical issue that caused him to hit her. She never did get anything from them.

Gotta say, for the money (about 1/2 what I was paying) Progressive was incredible when that little scratch was put on by the lady.

They all do the same things, progressive was one of the worst I tried; price gouging some kind of no pay loop hole. If you find one that works for you that's the one you keep
