New high-level technician training program at Lincoln Tech will prepare graduates for careers with Hussmann locations nationwide.

BRIDGETON, MO – Hussmann Corporation, a Panasonic company, announced it is launching TechX, a new high-level training program with
Lincoln Educational Services Corporation. Starting in May 2018, students will have the opportunity to train for Hussmann careers in the inaugural
Advanced Refrigeration Training Center at Lincoln Tech’s Grand Prairie, TX campus. With an industry-wide shortage of technicians, and almost
60,000 HVACR (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration) positions projected to open in the United States in the next six years,
Hussmann sources say the company envisions a bright outcome from the TechX program: Being able to more readily identify and hire the right
candidates for the Hussmann Services team.

60,000 is about how many of us old timers are going to be retiring soon.

Going to get ugly. Collision of very high tech equipment with no one to work on them.....

Then people will finally realize that a "college degree" isnt worth squat and the trades are where it's at. Plus, us younger guys will get to make a TON more.

Heck there is alot of old equipment young guys don't see, it's the old stuff I'm worried about, not much pneumatics training anymore.
And this stuff they are doing is nothing new, there are companies all across the US doing thier own version of this in preparation for the departure of the baby boomer generation from the work force. Lots of them targeting returning vets, paying them to learn a skill.
My problem is we can't get them to work now with all this fancy training, what means they'll stay? It's a work ethics problem not a people shortage.
Kids have grown up watching dad maybe Mom bust thier bodies and work like a dog to get by and they don't want to live like that.
