    Ice machine cleaning products

I have a Scotsman ice machine. The manufacturer says to use their descaler and sanitizer. But they only sell it 80 miles away. What's the difference between using the brands recommendation versus a generic descaler and sanitizer I can get from my local supplier?

    Nickel Safe Always.

If the Machine is under a Warranty or receives regular testing for Leigonella I’d be using the Manufacturers recommended product.
The primary function of the design engineer is to make things difficult for the fabricator and impossible for the serviceman.
