My house came with a Federal Pacific panel when I bought it. One day I was trying to make a breaker trip on purpose by shoving a wire in an outlet, since I didnt know which breaker went to it. I shorted out the hot and neutral several times, but the breaker never tripped. Then I was talking to an electrician who told me about how crappy Frderal Pacific is. There's lots of stuff on the web about them if anyone wants to look it up.

I tore that junk off of my wall and put up a Square D panel in its place. Much better.

    Yeah... Federal Pacific...
    And...
    Zinsco...

I have some old Zinsco breakers at my house... once in a while I will need one.

    Thankfully...
both FP and Zinsco boxes are becoming scarce!

Here's what I have on FPE breakers and panels. It's pretty comprehensive.

    Short version:

    FPE_2012.pdf

    Long version:

    FPE-Hazards-Revised-070525.pdf
