I was just going to post this. Most make very little and they claim a bunch of dependents. They don't pay taxes. Just like our working poor don't.

True. But they pay very little in overall taxes and are a burden to society on multiple fronts.

IRS Admits It Encourages Illegals To Steal Social Security Numbers For Taxes
    April 13, 2016
    .
The IRS actually wants illegal immigrants to illegally use Social Security numbers, he suggested. IRS Commissioner John Koskinen made the surprising statement in response to a question from Sen. Dan Coats, R-Ind., at a Senate Finance Committee meeting. The question was a touchy one. Gee, is the IRS collaborating with taxpayers who file tax returns using fraudulent information? It wasn't put exactly that way. According to Senator Coats:
    .
What we learned is that ... the IRS continues to process tax returns with false W-2 information and issue refunds as if they were routine tax returns, and say that's not really our job. We also learned the IRS ignores notifications from the Social Security Administration that a name does not match a Social Security number, and you use your own system to determine whether a number is valid.

Commissioner Koskinen was asked to explain this. He suggested that as long as the information is being used only to fraudulently obtain jobs, the IRS was OK with it. In fact, he said that the IRS actually had an interest in helping the illegal immigrants to crook these rules. In fairness, perhaps it's just the 'that's not my department' response that abounds in big government. Perhaps this just isn't the IRS's problem, but it sure seems odd to have any agency chief encouraging illegal immigrant theft of SSNs.

You'll love this next part. The IRS chief tried to distinguish between the various bad uses and misuses of someone else's personal data. It is at least vaguely reminiscent of the flap a year ago that differentiated President Obama and Donald Trump over immigration and taxes. Mr. Trump said illegal immigrants get $4.2 billion in tax credits. A 2011 audit by the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration confirmed that individuals who are not authorized to work in the United States were paid $4.2 billion in refundable credits.

Of course, undocumented immigrants cannot legitimately get Social Security numbers, but it seems the IRS doesn't care. Besides, they can file taxes with an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number. ITIN. They are not supposed to get the Earned Income Tax Credit, but they can receive the additional child tax credit. If the President succeeds in legitimizing the status of illegal immigrants, they could even get the Earned Income Tax Credit that is responsible for billions in fraudulent refunds.

The recipe goes like this. First, get a Social Security number, then claim the Earned Income Tax Credit for the last three years. Then, wait for the IRS to send you three years of tax refunds. The gambit could apparently work even if you never paid taxes, never filed a return, and worked off the books. And the IRS says this is the way the Earned Income Tax Credit works.

Illegal immigrants cited in theft of 39 million Social Security numbers
    September 11, 2018
    .
Nearly 40 million Social Security numbers have been stolen and used by illegal immigrants and others to get work, according to agency records obtained by an immigration reform group.

The Immigration Reform Law Institute said that from 2012 to 2016 there were “39 million instances where names and Social Security numbers on W-2 tax forms did not match the corresponding Social Security records.”

The group said that there is a “thriving black market” used by illegal immigrants to get Social Security numbers needed to get a job.

Their report draws attention to a move by former President Barack Obama to stop sending so-called “no match” letters to employers notifying them that numbers used by employees on the wage forms do not match their identity.

But it is not OK for an honest citizen to cheat on taxes???

Here's the problem with prosecuting employers for hiring illegal immigrants:

Evidence Surfaces of Intentional Employment Violations by Mississippi Companies Raided by ICE…
    .
An undocumented Mexican woman working in a Peco Foods plant in Bay Springs, Miss., told immigration officials that she had come to the state because people in Mexico had told her that jobs were available at the chicken plants there.

In cases cited in the affidavits, people on ICE’s electronic-monitoring programs were not authorized to work. But according to the affidavits, dozens of employees in such programs were found working at the seven chicken plants in 2018 and 2019. One successful job applicant was told by a supervisor during her interview that she would need to keep her ankle monitor charged while she worked. (read more)

Now, at first review it might sound like the plant employers would be in big trouble; however, buried deep in the article is this statement from one of the employers (Koch Foods), that everyone should pay attention to:

Koch spokesman Jim Gilliland told The Post that Koch Foods risked violating federal law that bans discrimination on the basis of national origin for requesting documents beyond what an applicant provides, if those materials appear authentic.

I can tell you with 100% certainty that what Mr. Gilliland says there is absolutely accurate. There are two sets of laws in conflict with each-other; and you can be sued, and/or fined, by the United States Department of Labor and/or the U.S. DOJ Civil Rights Division for not hiring illegal aliens.

If you question the authenticity of any applicants identity; and that applicant is one of a legally protected category (think “ethnicity” or “origin”); and the employers authenticity challenge results in a “disparate impact” of non-eligibility for employment – as determined by ethnicity (Latino); then you are in violation of U.S. labor laws. This happens regardless of it being unlawful to hire illegal aliens.

If you challenge the presented documents, and all the outcomes of those challenges result in non-eligibility of Hispanics as a greater percentage than non-Hispanics, you are violating employment law under the DOJ (Civil Rights Division) definition of “disparate impact.” In this example, and it is common (believe me), additional employment eligibility checks due to suspicions of false ID’s, is unlawful and legally risky.

Stocks rise on upbeat remarks by Trump on China trade
    .
President Donald Trump sounded upbeat ahead of a meeting he planned to hold later Friday with China’s top trade negotiator, offering renewed hope that the world’s two biggest economies will de-escalate a conflict that has weighed on the world economy.

As the first of two days of trade talks were ending Thursday, Trump said the negotiations were “going very well.”

Financial markets, highly sensitive to the ups and downs of the US-China economic relationship, surged Friday. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up, more than 420 points, or 1.6 percent, in late morning trading.

Vice Premier Liu He is leading the Chinese delegation in the 13th round of negotiations with US Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and was scheduled to meet with Trump on Friday afternoon.

Expectations for a major breakthrough in the 15-month standoff are still low. The two sides are deadlocked primarily over the Trump administration’s assertions that China steals technology and pressures foreign companies to hand over trade secrets as part of a sharp-elbowed drive to become the global leader in robotics, self-driving cars and other advanced technology.

Beijing has been reluctant to make the kind of substantive policy reforms that would satisfy the administration. Doing so would likely require scaling back China’s aspirations for technological supremacy, which it sees as crucial to its prosperity.

But hopes are growing that the two countries can reach a cease-fire through a so-called mini-deal that would lower US-China tensions and suspend Trump’s plans to raise existing tariffs on Chinese goods and impose new ones. The talks had stalled in May after the administration accused Beijing of reneging on earlier commitments.

“China came to Washington prepared to put some things on the table,” said Robert Holleyman, a former deputy US trade representative who is now a partner at the Crowell & Moring law firm. “They want to do something that gets these negotiations back on track.”

Trump boasts ‘substantial’ China trade deal in the works
    .
A “substantial,” though still tentative, trade deal has been agreed to with China, averting a tariff increase that had been planned for Oct. 15, President Trump said Friday.

The president’s announcement came during a meeting with Chinese trade negotiators in the Oval Office. “Lots of respect for President Xi,” Trump told reporters of China’s leader, Xi Jinping.

Although key details still need to be worked out over the next several weeks, the “phase one” agreement so far represents key concessions from Beijing.

It requires China to buy $40 billion to $50 billion in US farm products, and to agree to guidelines on how to manage its currency. Intellectual property protections for US companies that do business with China will also be included.

“We have an agreement on intellectual property,” Trump said.

Advance hopes of a trade breakthrough had already resulted in a bump in stocks earlier this week.

Trump has previously imposed some $360 billion in tariffs on Chinese goods; China has imposed some $120 billion in counter-duties on US goods.

Pelosi Likely to Follow-up December Impeachment Vote with USMCA Ratification…
    .
Leader Kevin McCarthy just put some specific dates to a sequence we anticipated several months ago.

During a Fox interview with Laura Ingraham (I’ll look for video) McCarthy predicts Speaker Pelosi will bring up the impeachment vote on/around December 16th; then follow-up the impeachment vote with USMCA ratification and the budget passage on/around December 20th allowing the Democrats to go home for the holidays with all three goals accomplished.

This prediction by Leader McCarthy is very likely. Earlier today Speaker Poli-Grip said passing the USMCA was “imminent“. In essence, she’s holding the USMCA vote as an ace to highlight a bipartisan legislative accomplishment by her party.

We noted last month: Nancy Pelosi will bring the USMCA to a vote timed with the impeachment vote. This plan allows democrats to try and dilute the political nature of the impeachment scheme by referencing the Trump administration USMCA vote as an example of Democrats not being political.

Peter Navarro: If Pelosi Could Pause the Impeachment, Congress Could Pass the USMCA…
    .
White House trade and manufacturing policy advisor Peter Navarro appears on Fox News to discuss two key economic and trade issues: (1) the current status of U.S-China trade discussions “round one”; and (2) the status of USMCA ratification (Pelosi’s delay).

Nothing in the China trade discussion is solid, until everything in the China trade discussion is settled; this is one of the key aspects to President Trump’s directive to USTR Robert Lighthizer. No deal is a more favorable outcome than the construct of a trade deal that cannot be enforced.

On the USMCA ratification, again it all falls upon the politics of Pelosi. The agreement would pass tomorrow if it were put up to a vote; there is no controversy. Speaker Pelosi is holding back the ratification vote for pure political purposes.
    .
Navarro: USMCA would pass if Pelosi wasn't focused on impeachment

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uES5qYrSLuU

USMCA ratification is the first domino in long-chain of ‘America First’ economic benefits.
As soon as USMCA passes a wave of North American investment will surge. The downstream consequences includes leverage for U.S-China, U.S-Europe, U.S-India and U.S-U.K trade agreements.
