    Metrotech bites the dust

This is the 2nd retail chain I been to this month where company used metrotech and came right back to us.. Arrived to do our first PM.. Saw one stat off, and lady over the winter said they began to smell a strange odor coming from heat, metrotech told them it's probably burning hot, i guess a few days went by before the store staff started to feel dizzy, and called the fire dept, they shut off the units on the roof... I went up there and saw this.... After i come down, the lady wants to know if I changed the filters.. told her filters are the last thing you should worry about.. week before at another chain we just got contract back, metrotech name on filters from last PM.. panels completely missing from unit...

I've seen them waaay worse then that and there NEVER was a question of smell. A combustion blower motor wound worry more then a draft inducer motor. Oh, tell that lady CO is odorless.

She didnt smell CO, but there certainly was an exhaust type of smell mixed with nat gas kinda.. I did turn the unit on before checking the exchanger and was certainly not a normal smell.. Had to get a good whiff of that!!!

Unfortunately the retail bean counters will never understand they get what they pay for.
