A UA Journeyman in another Union? Or in another Local? That's 2 different things.

First, I am not educated on all the union lingo so understand my confusion.

Next thing, after rereading the OP’s posts, I am fairly confident he was talking locals.

To help you understand what I was attempting to understand myself, read post #5 and #6 of this thread.

To an outsider, with zero knowledge of unions, it made no sense to me for him to be told he needed to go in and “pay his dues,” when he had already said he was a journeyman.

Since I questioned that, I have gotten some answers to my question that helped me understand.

Like I previously mentioned , the easies way to get in the union is to be sponsor by a signatory contractor, that's how I got in, going to the local and taking to turd chasers proved to be a waste in my case!
There is not better place for the working men than the union! 100% UA the only HVAC union!

    Other places, yes.

    Not in Philly.

"Are you in the union? No?........"

"Man, I wish you were a member."

"I have to hire from the hall."

    I don't think that's even legal.

There's a lot of stuff that's not legal. Changing that depends upon money.
