The temperature probes were a real let down for an otherwise bullet proof product.

As for the apps, Fieldpiece Job Link probes connect to MeasureQuick now to give live readings, with a more reliable connection, and higher data refresh rate, than the actual Job Link app.
I would love to see MeasureQuick be able to handle live readings from Testo probes, instead of just snapshots, and for Sporlan, Appion, UEI, etc. to play ball with it.

I know I'm in the minority, but I'm certainly not alone, in having wireless probes from 4 or more manufacturers...
Oh man great news with the Fieldpiece App. I have been waiting for this. I called Fieldpiece a few times and sent some emails about when it was going to happen.

Haven’t had any real problems with the SMAN 460s I have yet. One recall they had I got new ones quickly and with no hassle. But I have seen some people on here with bad things to say.

Can those yellow jacket temp Clamps be used with the imanifold? I would think so since you could use the Cooper Clamps with there Guage. I want to find some Clamps that aren't so fricken expensive like the Cooper Clamps.

No app to app work around, like with the Testo probes, actual live real time direct reading of the probes.

Fieldpiece of sh** is how I refer to their junk.

I really want a set of 870s, but come on. 36" leads and 60" hoses?!? Who was late to the meeting THAT day? Someone make a wireless probe with a receiver that is 3.5mm to plug in so you don't lose functionality.

The only saving grace to the 30” leads is they give you extensions for them. I just leave them connected. You can wrap the lead with extension around the temp clamp and still keep them on the manifold. But I agree. It truly was bs how the leads come.

    How long are the extensions?

With the extensions they have to be close to 6’ long. Sorry I’m not at my truck at the moment.

I’m going to buy the extensions that look like a curly q French fry. Think they would be more convenient to use.

I actually like the shorter leads, less problems.

I've been using the 870s for quite a while and love em. They do a lot more than most digitals and they have a fantastic manifold, so what's not to like. The micron gauge is almost dead on with my BluVac Pro too, as much as you can measure by measuring at two different places on a test setup or unit. Usually less than 40 microns off, and often a lot closer, especially at deep vacuum. The automatic logging feature is, in my mind, the best thing since sliced bread. I can go home and download the .csv file and look it over and save it for future service.

I agree 100% and couldn't put it any better! They almost feel like toys.
I tried the Fieldpiece job link probes but was not pleased with their operation and their claimed connection distance...i would think manufacturers would move away from bluetooth to another wireless protocol like the Imanifold zigbee probes.

Hopefully bluetooth 5.0 will help improve distance for future tools...if they only made blue tooth signal repeaters!!

”Bluetooth 5.0 has four times the range, two times the speed, and eight times the broadcasting message capacity of older versions of Bluetooth. Again, these improvements apply to Bluetooth Low Energy, ensuring devices can take advantage of them while saving power.

With Bluetooth 5.0, devices can use data transfer speeds of up to 2 Mbps, which is double what Bluetooth 4.2 supports. Devices can also communicate over distances of up to 800 feet (or 240 meters), which is four times the 200 feet (or 60 meters) allowed by Bluetooth 4.2. However, walls and other obstacles will weaken the signal, as they do with Wi-Fi.”

Unfortunately this is the state of the BT technology. We will continue to get piecemeal realeases of incrementally better connectivity. I almost wish I'd just stayed out of wireless until it was ready for primetime. That's why 90% of the time I use the 870, and no I don't use the BT app, it sucks worse than any AC app I've ever seen. But, the 870 is first class and we'll thought out. Hey, it's almost like someone who's actually worked on cooling had designed them.. go figure!

Besides that you are missing that BT5 can also communicate like zigbe where you can link nodes together. Bluetooth is not just point A to B anymore.
