Many thanks Robb. My thread explaining said pictures loaded up no problem.

I thought I might get some comment about this. That the KKK chose this particular style of robe is curious, because one of their primary hate targets were Catholics. So a bit of history...

The nazareno, or the penitential robe, has been a costume worn by penitents for over 500 years during traditional Holy Week processions in Spain and other Hispanic communities.

    Jus' "Pullin' your chain" Ice.

In my Researching the Catholic Church, part of these studies led me to the Practices such as this during the "Holy Week".

There's another Festivity, around the time of Halloween, I f I remember correctly, where they dress up in skeletal Costumes etc.

My Apologies, if I offended you Ice.

No offense here. I'm not even Catholic, but I find their traditions both beautiful and fascinating.

The time of our Halloween roughly coincides with the Day of the Dead. In Mexico it's called Dia del Muerto, which runs from Oct 31 through Nov 3rd (I think). It's a rather rather dark and morbid celebration though IMO.

In Ecuador it's the Catholic, All Souls Day which here is called Dia de Los Difuntos, which also roughly translates to the Day of the Dead. It a more a quiet family day to visit the graves of relatives, bring lots of flowers, eat traditional meals of the day, share stories, sing songs and even do any necessary cleaning or maintenance. The large and very ornate cemeteries here are filled to overflowing with families each Nov 2.

Halloween isn't all that popular here, although they love to dress up. The "older kids" can have some serious costume parties from what I've seen.

Attachments are semi-broken. Lots of errors about failed uploads. If I retry multiple times it'll post.
