    Ice-O-Matic

Can you guys school me on IOMs time delay and Low pressure switch. I worked on a unit where low pressure cutout is set at 31, but does not harvest until 22 psi. If i remember correctly, if operating correctly, shouldn't the cutout send voltage to the time delay at 31 psi? And then go into defrost however many seconds are set on the time delay? Thanks for any tips

Reverse acting LP Control closes on fall and timer takes over.
Reset to 22 and shorten the timer if you want.

Check out the first part of this video from IOM. Can't do a direct link, but pull up this link and then open "ICE0325 Modular Cuber-short cycling", seventh video down.

The easiest way to check LP switch setpoint is to reduce solid state time delay to 1 second. Unplug water pump and watch at what pressure it goes into harvest.

I've heard you should not adjust the LP switch to change bridge thickness. It should be the "constant". The solid state timer is what should be adjusted to get a thicker bridge.

2 tips I've learned: 1. The pressure switches tend to develop refrigerant leaks. Like, a LOT. 2. The smaller undercounter units use a LP switch that is supposed to close higher (around 45 if I recall correctly) but they often get replaced with the regular one, which leads to massively thick sheets of ice and/or freezeups.

After the LPS opens the setting on time delay is how much longer the machine will stay in freeze before harvest. Longer time delay=thicker bridge

Every unit has ITS OWN initiate setpoint.

Look it up and set it.

The older bulky Johnson controls initiates leak alot in the bellows.

The new control made by selco is pretty good and reliable.
Dont let ice o matic scare u
