The New Nu Calgon Air Purifiers

Has anyone used the Iwave air purifiers from Nu Calgon yet? Just wondering what the clients' reactions were. The idea seems like they will work especially not having to replenish a lamp as the Reme Halos need.

No. But looks interesting. Let me know if you try it and how it works for you.
Can someone please explain to me -
Why is there never enough time to do it right the first time, but plenty of time to do it twice?

Hey everyone pull out their IAQ product Buzzword Bingo card, and see who can get theirs filled in first!

I'd actually like to try out stuff like this, and I have an Air Advice monitor to see what, if anything, it does.
Just one problem, I fixed the actual sources of IAQ problems in my house, so don't have any meat on the bone for one of these things to chew on...

IAQ-in-a-Box products are sad sorry substitutes for fixing the actual problems.

Nu Calgon bought out a company called Global Plasma Solutions. I bought one of their first devices ( about the size or a 90-293 relay) and installed it. The next day i noticed a difference. Being single and a dog owner, I E kinda sloppy housekeeper, every day as i came home and went into my house, I could smell I was home. Next day it's gone. Worked good for about a few months. Then it burnt the little brushes off. They replaced it and lasted another few months. Got another and they said, "you gotta clean off the little brushes every month". Lasted about a year, maybe more, before burning the bristles off again.Replaced it again, they said " you can't install it within 12 inches of anything metal or it will do that" By then the 3 yr warranty was up so I was SOL until I replace my furnace with a plastic one.

New ones got a little rotating motor that comes aroung and cleans the "New n Improved" brushes. I've asked the Nu Cal rep to cut me a deal on a new one and I'll buy it.

Bottom line, They work but I hope they worked out the problems.

    P. S. Another guy at work turned his back in shortly after installing it. His wife complained cause It took away the smell from her sented candles.

Just wondering because I have about had it with RGF REME systems. Almost half have failed in or shortly out of warranty including one I installed in my own house. The worthless tech was going on and on about a clean power source and did I hook up the transformer the right way. Told me he would work something out about a break on a new one and never followed through.

I have 12 of the commercial units installed. Instructions do not say anything about any ongoing service nor do they give you a part # for replacement brushes. :-(

When the brushes are clean, they do make a difference. Had the rep out and after looking at the stiff, greasy bristles on the originals, sent me a set of new ones. Back to good operation! We are now pulling the brushes every six months and cleaning and have the wiper programmed for daily operation.

They apparently did not factor in cigarette smoke.... Go figure and these in a casino..
