    Use 1 inch 2lb closed cell spray foam. Waterproofing and insulation in 1 step.

    Back in the 80's we used a two inch styrofoam product that had a black tar paper looking cover on both sides of it. There was fiberglass strands in the tar paper. It was a PITA to cut, as it had to be cut on both sides with a razor knife. " A lot of blades were used." Also we put a black cloth and sealant over the exposed ends and seams. The stuff came from ABC Supply. This was a Federal installion, we were there under the guise of updating the heating and cooling, with reinsulation of parts of the building.

    An update. We Mostly finished. The last picture doesn't show the finished rock wall. We added a few extra layers to the corner. Now I am about to move out.... Decided I wanted a shop and I don't have 60+k to build one here so we purchased another fixer upper...
