Flame Sensor Fluctuations

I worked residential for 10 years and have found several furnaces without ground that still run and several that had intermittent issues because of it. Had a carrier modulating that finally had factory tech come to help me on and was due to a bad house panel ground rod. Also had carriers refuse to run if the burner ground was not secured. The ones that run despite lack of ground wire always lead me to believe there getting grounded through ductwork or gas piping. I could be wrong about that just IMO.

Could also be through the A/C.
