In theory, Trump won't do anything. It's strictly a local issue. Not a federal issue.

The left on the other hand, does take small local issues and 'federalize' them. Just look at the current president. And how much racism he has fostered by blowing up local issues.

We shall see how that goes?

Well, some of your conservative brothers-in-arms think differently. Jtrammel said civil war would break out if Clinton won the election. As much as you would like to align yourself with the good side, you should know that there is no one good side. Goodness resides in the hearts of men, and there are good and bad men in every camp.

I share your anger at the mob violence we're seeing at various protests, but I can't abide by your sweeping condemnation of millions of people. We're all Americans, and like it or not, we have to find a way to live together.

As for this post of yours...

It's because America as a collective values both liberal and conservative ideals, and we instinctly seek equilibrium when the system gets out of balance. The problem is, the imbalances are more to blame on $h1tty representatives of the ideals, rather than the ideals themselves.

And although I respect the passion of the electorate this time around, it was too late and too irrational. Once again, we had only $h1tty representatives to choose from. Mark my words, history will duly note the justifiable anger that led to Trump's election, but it will also highlight its unmistakable folly. The best thing we could have done as a people, would have to been to reject both Clinton and Trump, and demand better choices. Of course, we're too disorganized, too divided and too sheepish at this point to pull off such a feat.

Oh well, maybe next time around we can really turn up the heat on the establishment...

    Even Hillary was "horrified".

Of course, now that they lost the election they demanded Trump be accepting of, things are different. The moral high ground has gone right out the window (of course, we know that the moral high ground doesn't actually exist in a Liberal world unless in the form of a tool).

Yes, the Liberals are all crying. But not just crying. They've taken to the streets. And they are also signing petitions. And celebrities such as Lady GaGa (sans the Nazi outfit, I would think. She did, however, keep the ridiculous name and the personality disorder) are pressing all their fans to sign it, demanding that the Trump be removed, the election voided and use "popular" (& hopefully, not fraudulent) vote to install hillary.

The petition has 1.3 million signatures thus far.

In doing so, they confirm what Non-Liberals have always known. Need I say more?

So much for the peaceful transaction of power stuff the libbies were whining about. Now they want to assassinate Trump.

They seem to want war, those libbies. Not sure what to do with them at this point. No hatred involved, but out of frustration some of my thoughts are less than pretty.

Over 60,000,000 people voted for Clinton (not me, of course!). There's nothing that can be done with them. They are fellow citizens, we all have to find a way to live with each other. You know...in the spirit of the religion most conservatives claim to belong to.

But many of them are advocating murdering us. I find that a little difficult to rectify.

Every camp has a small fraction of violent lunatics. It's a sad and regrettable fact, and all the more reason why we need to try to make peace, whenever possible. Sometimes, it's not possible, but when it is, we have to jump on the opportunity.

Gotta run for a while. If you reply, I'll get back to you later.

    Peace!

Some of the problems with many leftists stem from youth and impatience and misinformed prejudice. These will hurt them more than they will hurt us.

We need to continue to be patient and goal-oriented.
We need to remember to act like adults as we make decisions for positive action.

But that doesn't mean that we need to seek out these leftists in search of consensus and compromise. If there is any searching and placating to be done, it must begin with those who thus far have blindly insisted on undermining us and the principles we stand for.

To that end, we need to maintain an open-door policy.

I liken the situation to a troubled marriage with fault on both sides, so I can't exactly agree with you. Yes, the so-called left tends to suffer from impatience and naive idealism, but the so-called right is also prone to shortcomings, namely being staid and resistant to change.

I don't know if you're in a relationship with a woman, but I can guarantee you that your strategy wouldn't work well if that relationship was troubled and you were hoping to fix it.

I know of only two ways to lasting peace: 1) meeting halfway, or 2) total war that leads to one side surrendering and being occupied (and that kind of peace is tricky because most people don't exactly enjoy having their country occupied/colonized...ask the British Empire how that usually ends.)
