    YORK® YVFA Free-Cooling Chiller

Anyone have one of the new YVFA chillers at their facility yet?

Here is the Book if you care to read it.

While I love this idea and it's great for smaller customers to have the ability of having free cooling, I worry that it makes the engineer think his part is all done...just order the "widget" and if it doesn't work, blame the chiller. Before this concept, the engineer had to actually "think" and "engineer" rather than just order a part number and move on. Like most things, how well it will be applied really does depend on the individual engineer and system.
"Right" is not the same as "Wise".

I'm pretty sure that the chiller would be sized for normal operation at a design OA temp and design EAT and LWT and the free cooling would be matching this tonage wise. I'm thinking the free cooling coils are only going to work good if your operating at an OA 45° or below probably really nice if this was installed in a data center where cooling is year around.

It will used at at pharmaceutical co. cooling needed year round for process. We have are finally starting to have fall ( four weeks late).
This technology should hopefully cover those that need cooling during colder months and do not have a cooling tower to use with a plate.
Same thing could be done with dry coolers and a heat exchanger. This seems to combine two proven Technologies in a small footprint.

3 years later, but I've got one, along with two YVAA's.
