    Applications of Thermal Imaging

I recently received some unexpected money. Go Cubs! So, I treated myself to a Flir E6.

I searched our threads, but I didn't find one that contained a collection of thermal images that had been useful for diagnosing or finding problems.

When I receive mine, I plan to post images of what I found to be helpful. I wish I had it before last Monday. I think it might have helped me find a loose wire connection for a 120V solenoid in a walk in cooler, but now I will never know.

It may take me a while to come up with anything useful.

In the mean time, please share images that you found useful with a brief description of how and when you use your imager.

I plan to break it and use it somewhat randomly at first just to find out what I am not seeing.

No doubt I will post some junk, but hopefully it won't take me long to get some meaningful images.

Nice, that reminds me of a thread about a walk-in freezer problem. The OP found a boiler I believe in a room below the freezer. I wonder if an imager would have picked that problem up much quicker.

I could post tons of pictures, but it is priceless especially combined with a Blower Door...Take one in the attic you'll spot duct leaks with ease

No, just that the game would go into extra innings.

I was from DeKalb, Illinois though. So, I'll still take a Cubs win.

Yeah right. You put a quarter on "cubs win the world series" and the payoff was enough for a FLIR.

Google- Breast Thermography, you can now spot cancer in breasts as a side job too. I've practiced quite a bit, haven't found any cancerous ones... yet.
