Lol. I was going to say $6 but threw a buck in for inflation, haven't done one in 15-20yrs. Getting that gasket off is the worst.

Lol. I have enough ink on my body I need to wear long sleeves. Actually the heat isn't bad here compared to NY. No humidity.

Water pumps are easy to change when you don't have a timing belt turning it. I never saw a freeze plug leak.

Years ago I bought a GMC Sierra from a used car lot for a decent price. I started the usual maintenance stuff with a new to me truck including replacing the coolant. A few days or so after I did that I was walking up to the truck from Home Depot and noticed a small puddle underneath it, thinking to my self nah can't be from my truck.
Stood there and looked at it and about 15 seconds later comes a drip. I kneel down and see another come from the inspection cover on the bell housing.
Stopped at Price Club and bought an Allied Floor Jack, went home and pulled the transfer case and transmission, clutch and flywheel. I replaced both freeze plugs with brass. Took a whole saturday. The truck had 144K on it when I bought it and kept it for another 13 years.
If you can't fix it with JB Weld, Duct Tape, and Ty Wire it has to be replaced.
    No good deed goes unpunished.
If you want to take off friday to go fishing then make sure you train your helper right.

Looks like he sealed it well with HI temp RTV silicone. I'm assuming that's the red around the plug.
