Lost another HVAC old timer last night.

Well guy's my grandpa George Yendrey a long time heavy HVAC and refrigeration guy lost the good fight last night at 88 years old. He retired from our industry just 5 years ago at 83 he just couldn't fight off old age any longer.

He and my great grandpa were a Carrier dealer from 1945 to 2011 and I followed in their footsteps. I owe my family's living to everything that man taught me. It's sad to see him go but his health has been so bad in the last couple of years it's a relief as well. It's rough watching someone who never aged to see it catch them all at once in such a short period of time.

I swear it was here but I can't remember and cant find it to save my soul but a member wrote

Old refrigeration guys never die they just blow their charge. Well last night at 8:37 he single phased went to ground and blew his charge.

Have a cold Michelob in his honor tonight and lets keep this country cold that's what he did. (That was his favorite)

    Good night guys.

    Sorry for your loss.
"Well last night at 8:37 he single phased went to ground and blew his charge" That is probably the funniest thing I have ever heard in a memorial post.

    RIP sir.
Some of us feel like we work hard enough to where it's going to kill us.
Those old timers, it made them feel like they were going to die from not working their butts off.
I'll crack open a cold one in his honor.

Thanks for all the well wishes guys. We laid him to rest on monday afternoon at high noon his favorite time of day. Get this though kinda cool factoid we figured out. Monday was my grandparents 61st wedding anniversary my grandma passed away 6.5 years earlier. They were married on monday 10-10-1955. We buried him on monday 10-10-2016 at high noon the same time their wedding was at exactly 61 years later.
