I vote for JB. My pump is a hand me down 1987 5 cfm that once had coil cleaner put in it instead of oil and it still works.
I have pulled 15 microns on just a gauge and regularly pull systems below 200 microns. I have eaven got a 3 ton split system to 97 microns.
That said we got some no name pump as a backup for under 200$ and it worked well but we gave it away because our old JB pumps do just fine and seem to last forever.

I believe in 1 use per oil change.

I had a Yellow jacket 6 CFM for a long time.It worked pretty good.I bought a navac 8 cfm (NR8DV) it is a good pump.It is good for carrying up to the roofs it is pretty light for an 8 CFM pump.Last month I bought the Fieldpiece VP85,8 CFM vacuum pump.I like the quick and easy oil change features.I think it is the best pump I now have.I use the Navac for smaller units now.I use the fieldpiece for larger units, and if I need to pull a longer vacuum.I can change the oil while it is still running. Both the Navac and fieldpiece are good.I think the fieldpiece has some advantages. The bullet was also good.

Same here I got a CPS. But lately it hasn't been pulling a vacuum well. I actually think I need new hoses. I'm also dying to buy the new FP vacuum pump.

All of my CPS pumps will do around 20 microns, with the gauge on the pump only.

That's with fresh oil and warmed up.

I have a cps 6 cfm for most work and a yellow jacket super evac for when I need to pull a longer vacuum because of its increased oil capacity.
I use some iceman style hoses and both of them work great.

The cordless NAVAC pumps look intersting. I do a fair amount of climbing and it would be nice to have a small unit to take on a roof. I wish I could find some information on run time on batteries, and how much batteries cost. I'll do some searching on cost but can anyone pipe up about run time?

Good choice. Mine is from the 1980s and still pulls below 20 microns.
