No. A VSD capacitor is exactly like a regular capacitor for a fan motor, except that it is very much larger in capacity. Keep in mind that these capacitor banks are large enough to carry more than 100% of the full load amps of 2 compressors running all out. Shorting them out with a screwdriver can cause very serious damage to the capacitor banks, wiring and you. I have seen the trigger boards faulty that charge these capacitor banks slowly except the the faulty board charged the bank in less than 1 line cycle and tripped a 4,000 amp fuse. Lots and lots of power.
