    I gotta see if my cousin still has a picture, but he replaced a 20hp motor built in the 30s out at UCLA. I forget what it was for but they only replaced it because they were upgrading things to VFDs. Motor still ran fine, it was just old and ineffcient.

    I have a motor very similar to that. It runs my diamond table saw.

    Probably should've put a tape measure next to it to show how big it is. You could take that 1/4 horse motor and make three out of the metal in that thing. Was cleaning out the garage, just can't bear to toss it. Love to find a use for it . . .

    Agreed, but I was commenting on the scale of the motor size
