This is bullsh*t! More American workers being laid off to send jobs to another country. All to line the pockets of the CEOs even more I'm sure!

Goodman and york are still made in USA.

York recently moved back from Mexico and Daikin has put some serious $ into the goodman complex so hopefully they're both sticking around for a while.

Here is the video of the actual announcement made in the factory. Our company has firmly decided to not push or sell any Carrier products as of yesterday.

Once you start making a decent wage/benefit package they pull the rug out from you.

The plant opened in the early 1950s. The average wage for union members there is about $23 an hour, which is almost four times what many manufacturing jobs in Mexico pay

Jones said one reason he's surprised by the closing plan is that Carrier had made regular investments in the plant to keep it modern. In 2011, Carrier said it was plowing $36.5 million into upgrades to support a new line of high-efficiency furnaces.

Ya just a business decision, sell that to the union membership and families. Anyone know what they make in this plant? May be wise to stay away from that product now.

Don't worry. The made in China parts were already going downhill. We have had numerous defrost board failures on brand new units this year. Run for 3 weeks and the board fails.

Yeah, at about 2:10 in the video you can hear somebody near the camera say something about "... how long it takes before people start tearing sh!t up".

"When Henry Ford realized it was good business to pay employees enough to buy the products they built, it was a breakthrough, not only because the idea challenged the reflex to pay as little as possible, but because the product was a car. He was talking real bucks".
