    rear loading fireplace insert?

Is there such an animal as a rear loading (i.e., outside loading) wood burning fireplace insert? My wife says "no" to bringing wood through the house and emptying ash pans from the inside. I know there are issues with flue liners, stability of the chimney when outside bricks are removed, security, etc. Any ideas? Thanks
