    Playing with fire...

I don't get to do this everyday...

It's the burner for a large deck oven in our bakery. I removed it this week for some cleaning and refreshing, then just HAD to bench-test it in the shop before reinstalling it.

Cool. Stuff right there, nice to be able to tinker inside a shop away from production , I use to work at a large bakery years ago. Brings back memories

Thanks. Actually deleted it for a new one. A different video editor with a few tweaks in timing and graphics. Making videos takes allotta time and experimentation. The other editor didn't sync the three videos to my liking. I hate that I have to be such a d**n perfectionist:

    Something that *frys* food.

And why do you have popcorn on the shop cart in back there? Hell with a shop like that, throw in a never-empty coffee pot, and maybe I *will* come work there.

    >Deep fryer

Right-o, however it should just explode off your tounge in it's full glory:

Frymaster MJ burner, with new style "glow-in-the-dark-flue-fire-it's-going-to-do-that-now-exhuast" metal targets, instead of the old style ceramic tie-em-on-with-wire targets.

Now if they'd come up with a way to eliminate the center rear orifice and target, I'd be a happier camper. That always seems to be the first to clog up, turning the fryer into a 4th of july sound-off special.

2nd shift found it broken and...presently...not needed. They fixed it and it's being load-tested. It's passed the six month benchmark so far.

I never thought we'd see so much of the other shops: the carpenter shop, building maintenance, the furniture shop, the auto repair shop, the sign shop, the paint shop, the warehouse personnel...and management...coming through OUR shop just to help with the load-testing.

It's nice of all them to do that. Team work...ya KNOW?

Heck! Come ON! We still have openings!

    Still no beaches though...

Here's how I described it on YouTube:

"A bench test of an impingement target burner for a commercial fryer before reinstalling it. New target deflectors and orifices installed. Comprised of:

    - Original RobertShaw valve (20+ years of service).
    - Proof of pilot flame with a new thermopile.
    - Main burner operates from 24vac.

When installed, operation of this burner is by a Fenwal cartridge type thermostat - accurate to less than 1F (the best mechanical thermostat there is).
To bench test this, I just simply rigged it to a 24vac transformer and a convenient little toggle switch.

    It's HOT!"
