    Another day another donut

Another "Nice" cold air drop bites the dust.

Here's my homemade coil cabinet with a-coil transition that jimmyed likes so much

    lol. Nice looking metal!
We never use A coils, N coils 99% of the time.
If you're using goodman coils, I can understand why you don't like their cabinets.

I'm not crazy about any unit with a build in filter dryer. I was using Rheem until just of late but the condensors are to noisy (nothing like installing a new unit and be embarrassed by the noise). I just went to Goodman furnaces after a 350 dollar price jump. Still thinking or what a/c to use (but it has to be built in the good old usa).
I didn't install the a/c here, just remounted the coil.

Dang. We put in the same product for 20 years. I'd hate to jump brands and have that many different parts to carry on the service truck.

Not so big a deal, with 10 year parts warranty and 99% of what I sell is mod or two stage with variable speed ecm. I don't stock the ecm motors and boards anyway (don't want to be buried with it all) plus I'd never make a dime on them.

AlliedAir products (the AirEase) are made in SC... I have had good luck with them.

Currently, they are still using ADP CU/AL coils... rumor is all AL coils are coming.

Lennox is marketing an all ALL AL outdoor coil AC unit... hope this becomes a trend. I seriously dislike MC coils.

I'll check them out one of my suppliers carries the Ducane brand. Are they quiet?

Ducane and Concord are made in Mexico... the AirEase and ArmstrongAir are made in the USA.

Yeah, they are relatively quiet. Not like a Trane with the funny top... but none of them are noisy anymore.

If you have Ducane in your area... you can find one installed and listen to it.

Personally... when I see a unit under a window... I ask if it is noisy... if they say yes... then we discuss noise.
Better IMO for the customer to know up front what they are getting... than for me to have to make excuses.

That looks awesome billg! ICP(Tempstar, Heil, Arcoaire) has a pretty quiet unit. 2-speed outdoor fan motors, compressor sound jacket. But they can be pretty pricey $$$$.

I installed this one in a condo, also bid a unit for the lower unit owner (was underbid). When I returned to service filters I got to feast my eyes on this awesome Daikin install, I especially like how that square return base nicely frames out that information packet holder.
