I've also found that just holding the leads from the box in contact for a few seconds until the test starts is sufficient and often works better than leaving it attached.

Soooooo you know you can use a quarter and get the same results. Take some sandcloth to the test posts and a quarter fits right in between the posts. If you don't want the compressor(s) to start during the winter, disconnect the contactor(s)

After using a jumper to use test mode on the voyager RTUs, I saw multiple issues. First, you may accidently skip past the mode you want if you're not paying close enough attention. Second, you have to pass cooling first, not the greatest of ideas when it's really cold outside.

So, I made myself a nice box with resistors for all the test modes, plus a resistor to simulate a low enthalpy situation. Next one will be a plastic box, as well as one mode on the dial for just a straight jumper.

I already had one guy at work ask for me to make him one. If there's any interest, I can price my materials and see what they'd cost.

In my first post I stated that I know you can just short test 1 and test 2. Plus, this is faster.

Okay so I priced this at making 10 since resistors come in 10 packs. Total for materials plus shipping was 92.50, divide by 10 and it's 9.25 in materials each. Just gotta figure what build time and shipping is worth...Say I ship in a small flat rate box, those are 5.95 so shipping is fixed:

Materials: $9.25
Shipping: $5.95
Labor: $?
