My favorite tool(s) is a simple 6 in 1 screwdriver with a 5/16" and 1/4" built in nut driver and 6" crescent wrench. The wrench to access the system to install gauges.

My favorite tool is my brain. It's usually handy, runs on almost any fuel, and it makes my life much easier. My customer's lives too. I find my brain interesting - I enjoy the way it works and it often surprises me with what it an do. My second favorite tool is my hands. All other tools come in a far-down-the-list fourth or lower.

Agreed...with the proviso that early on, it got me into a lot of trouble..but not nearly as much as the trouble it got me out of.

I have three favorite HVAC tools, aside from this site.

For refrigeration circuit work, my AK-900's.

For nut and screw work, my Bosch I-Driver.

For electrical, my Fluke 116.

I used to have the M18, a little brighter, but the m12 stick light is bright enough, makes ceiling work alot easier, the metal thingie at the top opens slides up and down the back or can lock, great to hook off any pipes or wires

I am a student. The Fluke clamp amp meter has been my friend.

I can troubleshoot just about anything with a crescent wrench, 6 -in- 1 screw driver, and a multi meter. Those are my favorite tools.

My favorite is my Fluke 376FC with 2 extra amp meter modules. Allows me to capture readings on 3 phase equipment with panels secured and record readings as well. The handiest tool I have is my iPad. Connects via the Fluke app to my meters and my gauges. Along with allowing access to technical data and catching up on YouTube at dinner time.

I get these a Lowes, Taiwan made, Home Depot's & many others are garbage. They penetrate even 18 ga. Metal by hand.
