Lifespan of combustible gas detector sensor

The sensor life for the #69373 combustible gas detector is 500 hours. Is there also a time lifespan on it? For example if it is only used 20 hours a year would the sensor last 25 years or would it need to be replaced after a year or two. Also is there a way to tell when it is time to replace the sensor?

Hi.. if the validity of your sensor is just 500 hours and you use it in 20 hour a year than also you have to change it in 2 yr.It will not work more than 2 year.
