    80+10 mfd ?

Im testing a capacitor which specs read 80+10 uf. I put my multimeter on mfd and when i place one of the leads on any of the terminals, the multimeter reads 0.022. If i put one lead on each terminal i get ol. I tested a new 80/10 cap and got the same reading. So my question is what does 80+10 mean and what should it be reading on my meter?

Sounds like you need a meter that reads capacitance...

It should have three terminals, you read from the common terminal to the others, on side should have 80mfd and the other 10mfd if the cap is good, and your meter is set right and good.

Reading mfd with one lead has no meaning, ignore it, everything has capacitance, even an empty meter lead.

I held my leads on the cap for an extra 10 seconds and got perfect readings. Ol is displayed for 10-15 seconds and then the mfd is displayed. Thanks for the help!
