I have never considered buying new hoses over the seal going bad? I keep seals right in my truck and changed them out in about a minute. I am not sure I can earn enough in a minute to justify a new hose?

And to the OP, the 3/8 one will become tapered once you screw it on the vacuum pump a few times.

I replace hose gaskets pretty often. United Refrigeration sells a kit with the various sizes, new schrader core depressors, and some other stuff. Although now that I'm thinking about it - maybe I threw some of that stuff in there. <g>

They are sometimes a pita to get out but it's like any skill - pretty soon you make it look easy.

Oh! Now I see that they are OEM gaskets? I guess I would carry the hoses around around and ask everybody at every supply house if they had any idea what they are. Customers included.

Sorry - I guess that's not much help.

The hoses are in great shape other than the gaskets. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

It seems like the NRP gaskets are crap, they last like a week with heavy use, the last ones URI shipped were Yellow Jacket, I expect them to last longer.

Gaskets aren't going to last if you over tighten them.

Low loss hoses are much more dependable as they hold by the side.

Sounds like a real waste to me. You guys must make more money than I do. Gaskets are about $.50 each verses $30.00 for a hose.

I Found a really good tool at a hobby shop that has a curved blade on one side and a hook on the other for removing those old gaskets. Yellow jacket replacements seem to work the best for me also.

I have about 100 hoses to change gaskets in. I'm not real keen on getting raped at the supply house. Does Home Depot carry this in bulk or am I headed to EBay?

I keep a pack of gaskets and another of cores in my service van... I'm too cheap to buy new hoses so I had to master the art of gasket exchange...
