I left the Chicago area in 87. I chose New Mexico because of all the public lands, wilderness areas and the "live and let live" attitude the people have. Only two places I've lived, here and Louisiana can I say it's way different than the rest of the USA.
Sure I took a hit on wages but as far as I know I'll only live once.

Since NM is a lib/dim state, I'm surprised they have a "live and let live" attitude. I thought dims were always for government intervention, but I've never lived in NM.

Exero, NM is nether lib or con. Right now we have a female Hispanic republican governor who might be on the national ticket as VP. Before we had Richardson and before that a Libertarian Johnson. You assume too much.
The fifth largest State in terms of land mass and just 2 million people most in just a few places. Works for me.

Well if you look from 1992 to present, they do seem to vote mostly democrat. But if you look over the past century, NM seems to switch back and forth. But if 20 million Mexicans are given amnesty and their families come here, you have to wonder if NM will ever vote red again. Or I guess I should say "I" have to wonder if NM will ever vote republican again.

The longer the Mexicans are here, the more conservative their views seem. At least the ones I know. Many 2nd and 3rd generation American born hispanics working other than entry level positions are against illegal immigration and amnesty. Could be because they don't want job competition. The "real" Mexicans don't respect American born Hispanics. We could solve a lot of problems by closing the borders.

Places with the cheapest and the most expensive Obamacare premiums:

Areas with a limited number of hospitals and doctors tend to be more expensive since care providers can demand higher prices from insurance companies.

For example, residents of Southwestern Georgia pay some of the highest premiums in the country—an average of $461, since there’s only one hospital system that dominates the entire market in that region.

In contrast, the least expensive premiums are offered in Minneapolis-St. Paul, where there are four major health care systems. Consumers in the Twin Cities pay an average of $154 a month. Kaiser says a similar plan costs nearly three times as much across the river in Wisconsin, where there are fewer providers.

Gee, I wonder why Obamacare can't make everybody pay the same price for the same level of care.

Funny how the places with the most and the best hospitals are also the cheapest...
