I pack all my lunches in the morning before work now. I used to only eat fast food; stopped that about 15 years ago. So I literally had not had a Taco Bell taco in that amount of time. I used to get six of them for lunch. Think they used to be something like 59 cents each. Oh man, I could wolf those babies down. And loved every bite!

So I had been sort of having a craving for them again. Cravings lasted about a year before I gave in. Even knowing that their 'beef' was less than 50% real meat. So a couple of months ago I bought three of those tacos. They were pretty gross. Fast food really tastes almost like crap once you start eating healthy.

Another idea, on a piece of flatbreat or naan, some pieces of chicken, sprinkle cheese and spices and toast in the mini oven. I don't mind a cold-once-toasted sandwich.

It sucks, but fast food and refined sugar is addicting so I just need to stay away from it.

I can definitely see that.. just got to break the habbit. Its so easy to go through a drive-thru for 5 bux than to spend 30 mins packing a lunch. I like the 12v crockpot ideas... im going to check them out.

Seems like there was a 'craze' about Hot Pockets a couple of years ago. Didn't have a clue what they were, just seemed to hear people talking about them in person and on the radio. Then I asked my better half if she knew what they were.

She said said yes, they have them at work, I'll bring one home for you if you want. But you won't like it. I said sure, I'm curious what they are. She was right. Mostly just refined white flour and fat wrapped around some really gross goo that we are probably supposed to believe is cheese made from dairy and bits of stuff that was likely cat food we are probably supposed to believe was ham.

And people thought that stuff was tasty? I honestly couldn't believe how bad is was after hearing everyone rant about how good they were.

For the life of me, I can't imagine why.

I mean, I'd eat just about anything if I was starving. But to eat those things by choice? I don't think so. It's painfully obvious why health care costs are what they are; people aren't smart enough to know what is good for them.

You're supposed to microwave cats, or cats are gross?

I can only imagine that a microwaved cat would be gross.

If I get to eat, I usually will have a handful of spinach, some grilled chicken breast, mushrooms, olive oil, seasoning.
Stay away from things that will go bad quickly if warm. Never any onions (raw) fastest at growing bacteria and will get you sick if not refrigerated properly.
Protein Shake in the morning and late afternoon.
Stays light and I don't get the food coma issues.

The only thing I microwave is my pork just read the pork thread. had to.

I make my own trail mix so I can control what's in it and eat that with some fresh fruit. Colder times I'll do soup and things in a thermos. A hot lunch makes you feel so much better and refreshed than a cold sammy. You could put other things in it like meat balls then bring a roll and bam you got a hot meatball sub!

Healthy lunches are great for keeping your energies up and avoiding late-afternoon tiredness. These recipes also delight with fantastic flavours and colours.

I was on the road to many many miles in NJ and when my dispatches came at nite I would plan a sandwich spot that was a good deli. Sometimes nothing good along the way. Now I'm off the rode in a school system and eat at the same Italian buffet every day

I usually skip lunch and concentrate on brekkie and supper. A couple apples, oranges, bananas or other fruit are easy to pack for a midday snack to hold me over, along with coffee. Sometimes pack a salad
