Rotobrush is all I've seen used around my area. I personally think is a piece of crap and just stirs up all the **** in the duct without doing much cleaning
I have a business associate that wants to
O include duct cleaning in his business
I HAVE MADE A AGREEMENT WITH HIM that I will do all the service work
So I'm looking to help him get the equipment
DON"T mess with the US
I thought I had been there and done That.
ITS ALL ABOUT LEARNIN!
I thought it would be better by now

Why would he want to get into duct cleaning? To much work for to little money plus its a nasty job and people don't want to pay for it. Once they see it in the paper for one hundred dollars they think your trying to rip them off. If he really has a hard on to do it buy used equipment, At least you won't be in it to deep when you find out it sucks. I only do it for my GOOD customers and am paid handsomely for it when I do. If he does decide get into it make sure to get a good enough vacuum source to get the whole system into a good negative pressure.
good luck with the roto duster..

What does that mean? Has he done duct cleaning before?
No he wants to add it to his menu
He might want to look at rotorbrush system.
Commercial vs. residential
sheetmetal vs. ductboard and flex
basement vs. attic systems
insulation internal vs. external
There are numerous things to learn about and discuss before any of us could even advise you on equipment purchase...... I would have a long talk with you first. Your friend might be very mechanically inclined, however there is alot of HVAC knowledge needed to do this right. I have not seen the best results from "general cleaners" trying to expand. So how involed will you be? I will share with you that I have been in this trade for 27 yrs. In addition to my HVAC degree, NATE cert, Master licenses, etc I was also NADCA certified, CSIA certified etc and spent years specializing in cleaning tactics. I am knowledgable about all equipment on the market. Without HVAC knowledge you can do lots of harm. This will take more then a 1-2 week training course for someone not of our trade. Feel free to call me if you would want to talk.
Warning: Just because I am over the head injury doesn't mean I'm normal!
The day I stop learning.... I'm dead!
Since these post are older now, are their any newer systems that are recommended?
