The BTW-KEY-3 BACTALK FOR WINDOWS is probably a serial key and will only work with bactalk for windows. Envision for bactalk or "EBT" uses a usb key so it would say ebt on it.

So that would mean it only works with BACTALK below 2.0? That is what I have been told.

Yes, it is a serial key...
BTW-KEY3 is the label on the key.

The new ebt 3.0 is a software key no more usb key that you needed on ebt 2.6 and down.

if it is a serial port key then I would say an early version of envision, I have a usb tech key for envision that I have used on ebt version 2.0-2.6 I now have ebt 3.0 which is the newest version and it is a software key and is locked to the pc I have it on much like your windows lisence.

BTW-Key-3 serial is good up to 1.3. Serial tech keys are good to 2.6. 3.0 is software only. The biggest issue is newer pc's and laptop's no longer have serial ports to service older jobs so converters are in order.

Sorry folks. There was a changeover that went to 3+ key from the key 3. The 3+ will work with EFB 1.3, but the straight key 3 is limited to a much earlier version, Bactalk for Windows as opposed to Envision for Bactalk.
