are you adding your caf file as a resource file in the jci device extensions?
I am trying to figure out how to get the FX20 to import all of the data from the each of the PCG points. I have taken the time to edit all of the descriptions of my points on my PCT (caf) file, but when I discover and import all of my points on the FX20 the descriptions don't come in. During the discover process the controller can see all of the descriptions I've put in, but when I "add" the points, the descriptions all show up as "Present Value." In order to get the correct description to show up I have to go into each individual point and edit the description name under "JCI Proxy Point Extensions." Am I doing something wrong here or is this just the way it is? I feel like this is some sort of problem Johnson needs to work out. It is a little frustrating because I have a lot of points and I am doing everything twice now.

I have edited my descriptions in PCT as well and they all pulled into the fx just like I had them in PCT. Igotworms may be onto your issue. You shouldn't have to do it twice.
In the past I stopped adding the file as a resource because I didn't see that it was really making a difference in the way the points came in and what data it brought over. I'll try it again and see if it fixes this problem. I think you guys are probably right though. I should have thought of this myself. Thanks.

Im having the same problem with cct. Still have .caf files. I did add the .caf files with no luck. What is the Jace version. Im using 3.5.
Or JCI's version 3.1
I just finished a job with PCT controllers with FX70 at 4.0. All of the descriptions came in perfectly with using the .CAF file as the resource file.
4.0 here. I'm pretty sure that's where you need to be using PCT. I know for the canned graphics anyway you need to be at 4
The PCG field devices are supported at FX-WB 3.1 (Ax 3.5.34).
Been a while since I added a PCG at 3.1 but I don't remember any issues with the descriptions Not populating the point fields. I'll do some checking and see if I remember any tricks.

I figured this out the other day. I just haven't had time to post what I figured out. Using the resource file did help me with my problem. However, you can't add the resource file after you have already added the controller and discovered all the points. The first thing you have to do is discover the controller and add it. Once thats completed, double click your bacnet network, which takes you to the JCI Import Manager. From there you can edit the controller and add the resource file. Once you do this and hit save it will automatically bring in all of the bacnet exposed points you have saved on that resource file.
The only problem I had with using the resource file is that it automatically assumes whether or not the points are writeable or read only. It seems like it makes all of your BO's writeable, which in my case I don't want, and it makes a lot of my AV's read only, which I also don't want. To fix this, the only option is to delete the point and add it in manually or discover it and add it. From there you can set it up correctly.
So this is where my problem with the bacnet point manager comes in. The manager can discover the point and read the description, but can not translate that over to the proxy extension properly when you add it...
Anyways. Thanks for the answers everyone. Your information was helpful. By the way, incase anyone was interested, I am using FX Workbench 4.0, a FX20 (Version 3.6.31) and a PCG2611 (Version 5.3.0.2200). I am also using all custom code which could also be part of my problem.
Just so you will know there is a new version of PCT released. It gets rid of that big circle thingy that displays while its busy and will support the new PCA controller that's coming. Not to mention it is A LOT faster in its execution! Its version is 5.3.0.5500
Interesting... My JCI rep has not brought that up. Thanks for the info.
Let me ask you this then. Do you know if they fixed the problem where the FX20/60 is unable to write to Bacnet exposed activity points that are within program modules? I know on the Metasys equivalent (NAE and FEC) this isn't a problem. However, on the FX side of things, I get an error on the FX20/60 that says "Property: Write Access Denied." The only way I can write to points is by creating all network inputs and connecting them to the activity input. It's extremely frustrating...

I will try that first thing in the morning. That is a new suggestion that I have not seen anywhere else. Seems promising. I've had this problem for months now and it's on about 6 different buildings that I've done.
The only thing that I find weird is that I did about 4 buildings prior to those with no problem. All these points are brought in using the "present value" and I can write to them just fine. Same software and hardware versions also.
Mapping in the relinquish default value works great. The way I understand it is it also reduces network traffic since the jace is not constantly writing to it.
