Sounds like you have it configured for dual fuel, should call for strip heat based upon how far away from set point

it is in Smart Recovery Mode to be @ set point @ the desired time ( not just starting at set time) it is a comfort feature, if you do not want that, you can disable it

we use filter grills so we can install multiple filters , not a big fan of 1 filter on the side of an AH, smallest single filter we install is 20x30

unit size? I would not put (1) 20x20x4 on anything larger than a 2 ton, we do multiple 4"

I have had luck with it albeit the leak will come back, I can maybe extend an evap coil leak for the season but rest assured it will be back
If it not done 100% correctly you will do mare damage...

IF the coil was out of warranty , this is why we recommend replacing not just the coil for this very reason......That is of course assuming the coil was changed in a proper manner...fan barley...

External driers should always be installed, the internal drier is Not a replacement or "in lieu of" an external drier...they would be OK if the install is Pristine and Sanitary ( regarding piping...

pretty much a hack install, and you should never "blank Off" especially if that fan discharges where the blank off is
I imagine there are other issues but we would need to know static and airflow...

You can expect union work to be top notch all the way, you typically don't see hack work, that being said ( as an ex union fitter) our non union work parallels what you will see in a union shop

cant discuss prices but if it is an old unit 20+ probably didn't matter other than they should have looked indoors for a leak...we don't charge by the pound but rather a flat rate

I agree, we'd put it in and return also there is the option of making a smaller or larger one out of 2 or more capacitors, to many techs just don't know how.............

lots of things are done all the time that are incorrect....40% over is pretty significant

5% + on capacitance is ok voltage over is fine no matter, if it were me, i'd go back with the right size MFD
