What I hate the fact that you’re non union? Weird that you know that.
I’m sorry man but you know nothing about me and to assume you do is asinine.
As someone who spent 25 plus years nonunion...
Yes Delta T mentioned it in his post. Look it up and watch it very interesting. Most of it can be any large city but some is seattle ultra liberal mess.
What do you mean by free enterprise?
You know there is nothing a “free enterprise” shop can do that a union shop can’t right? Well except take advantage of their employees
Last raise I was one of 6 guys that showed up to the meeting to vote on it
MES= mechanical equipment serviceman
BTJ= building trades journeyman
Just classifications
I believe we have somewhere around 50% of the market and it is growing
To answer your actual question if you want to continue doing the same stuff you are doing now you can expect in the $30-$40 range. If you want to move up to commercial /industrial and join the union...
Wait isn’t Portland way more liberal than Seattle
At local 32 there is 3 levels of MES 1=55% of BTJ, 2=65% of BTJ and 3=80% of BTJ. A level 3 is about $43 an hr. You can always be paid over scale too.
Ok but still what was the point of posting it?
We had one journeyman and 2 MES out of the north 26 the journeyman just left us for some other 26 shop in Bellingham. He had been a 26 journeyman for about 10 years.
Yes all are 26 MES make over...
What is your point in posting a old contract for the local 26 tradesmen and MES?
You also have BTJ there too, my company has a few 26 journeyman. In 32 we hav MES also that’s how I came in.
So this applied journeyman is something that your local has nothing that we have here. So yes then I’m talking about a “true” journeyman.
Is this out of your locals bylaws?
I have never heard of applied journeyman. We are all BTJ here. Well whatever a good chiller guy will get 65-75 dollars an hour here whatever term you want to use.
Local 32 seattle almost every shop pays over scale here especially for chiller guys
For a good chiller guy you could get $5-$15 over scale so $65-$75 an hour plus a $20 an hour benefit package.
(We need a good chiller guy)

This is what is being talked about. I have seen this ad and many others always the same companies advertising in Craigslist here. They are offering $30 to $40 an hour with medium benefits probably...
Ooh temping
It’s $60+ an hr plus benefits here in seattle. The OP is probably topping out at $40 but then again you get to drive a van home lol
Which guys are lazy? Is Trane lazy to come Zan and fixes your trailers? How about UMC are they lazy? Don’t confuse well planned out and operating safely as lazy. It’s really weird to hear a...
What are you even talking about? Are you talking about the new 99 tunnel to as an even opened yet? What do unions have to do with that decides it’s union contractors doing work?
If you are good you will work. I’m not saying I’m good I’m pretty average but I have never had less than 35 hours in a week unless I choose to. In service there really is not lay offs. ...
Man I understand you had a bad experience in Reno but don’t base the whole UA off of that.
No one guy is going to have all the knowledge needed for this industry and to pretend that since the union...
I understand what you’re saying but why should everyone go through Mitsubishi VRF school? Why should everyone go through Trane centrifugal school? Should we also be sent to daikon school? Does...
Correct we don’t force employers to send employees to brand schools. Companies generally always pay for that as it is their benefit to send the employee to school whether it’s Mitsubishi VRF school...
I do not know what they have for VRF at the hall for training. I know we have 6 or 7 guys that my company has sent to the Mitsubishi school.
DDC is training that is genetic no sense training...
Yes both Trane and UMC are in our local.
Correct it is public information as it is used for prevailing wages
We probably do your work. What school district?
Yes oil training at UTI consisted of this - The instructor pointed at 2!oil furnaces in the corner and says you guys from the north west might want to take a look at these because you might run into...
VRF, centrifugal chillers, and DDC are all courses that are part of our apprentice classes also available in the evenings two journeyman. But most centrifcal guys Will also go to the Trane...
The going rate here for a Razzie guy that’s not commission sales that is good is 40 plus an hour. Comercial I would say about $45-$50 an hour non-union, union scale is $55 an hr on the check.
Take a trip down to Local 32 to it says you’re in SeaTac Local 32 to his office is in Renton it’s a five minute drive I think you’d be quite impressed if you took a little bit of a tour and yes...
That’s probably why you get paid over $50 an hour here in seattle. It’s a great place to work keep shoving that money in the bank and then your retirement and move like I’m planning on doing when I...
I do not know I am not from that area. I’m in Seattle and we have very competitive pricing with all the non-organized shops we’re just better taken care of not the owners
I’m sure you can. Remember you don’t have to pay anything for your health care or put anything into your retirement. Seattle is expensive and we are under that for wages and I do ok with being the...
I believe journeyman scale in San Francisco is something like $60ish and hr.
Welcome
I love them they work great for jumpering cards. Just keep buying them to jobs and soon enough you will have a packs worth
Your filter is probably fine, You should be able to get a year out of it but let the service tech assess that. A "tune up" probably won't solve anything but at least that gets someone there to...
Living in Florida I would think your dog would die of heat stroke after a few hours of sitting in your locked van
We have a large fleet. All the vans have alarms, GPS and since the slick locks have been installed there has been no successful cargo area break ins. Before it was at least a few a month.
Unit is not grounded properly. A standard breaker is just there to protect the wire from over amps.
I guess we will have to start putting more money hourly in the vacation fund as we are approaching $60
$4 an hr x 2000 hrs a year is $8000.00 who is getting hosed?
thank you we do not have an annuity. We do have the national pension $2.49 hr the state pension $4.56hr a 401k $4.75hr and vacation fund $4.00hr.
Because the unit is not grounded properly!
you din't get the familiar jolt of 240v you got the jolt 120v.
Ok to sound like a dumba55 what is an annuity?
